Kedungu beach is the perfect surf spot for surf lessons. OK I might be influenced because I was born here. The spot offers 3 break points : the main pic gives you a consistent A frame wave which means a left and a right! goofy or regular , everybody will find a wave here. This wave’s shoulder is easy to surf for beginners / intermediate surfers. On the left side of the beach , another wave , a fast and powerful left working only with perfect swell condition. Advanced surfers only for this wave , it makes barrels with big swell and low tide conditions. This last wave makes consistent foam on its second section, perfect playground for beginners. Kedungu Beach: The Legends

Not really known, Kedungu beach hides a cave, only accessible when the tide is really low

If you talk to locals , you might hear some legends about Kedungu beach. Like many villages near the shore in Bali, a river go through Kedungu and ends up at the beach. A legend says the river is alive , or haunted by a crocodile due to its shape on the sand. It seems like it’s changing everyday as if the river was dancing , or moving on the sand …

I also heard many times a temple got flood in Kedungu beach. It’s hard to know more about this , but the legend also says one day a fisherman saw a column underwater and got scared of the mystical lights of the flood temple. This story helps the legend to survive and locals continue to pray and put offerings on the sand for the flood temple during its birthday.

I hope you learned more about my home town beach, soon I’ll tell you more about Kedungu village itself!

See you soon in Kedungu
